Dry Cleaning
Dry cleaning is any cleaning process for clothing and textiles using a chemical solvent other than water. Despite its name, dry cleaning is not a ``dry`` process; clothes are soaked in a liquid solvent. Tetrachloroethylene (perchloroethylene), which the industry calls ``perc``, is the most widely used solvent. Alternative solvents are trichloroethane and petroleum spirits.
Does Dry Cleaning Remove Stains. Stains requires prompt treatment for a successful removal. Unfortunately, hand washing is not an effective way of removing stain. This leaves us with the option of dry cleaning.
Typical fabrics that cannot be dry cleaned safely include fabrics containing or made up of plastic, PVC, or polyurethane. ... Fabrics such as cashmere and wool are susceptible to losing shape in full submersion and will likely shrink, so typical washing should be avoided. Another gentle fabric is silk.
When it comes to dry cleaning your clothes, the high drying temperatures and chemicals used in the dry-cleaning process can directly damage your garments or slowly decrease their lifespan.
Wash, Tumble Dry & Fold
Please don’t add silk, leather, fur, velvet or cashmere or any dry clean only items to your Wash, Tumble Dry & Fold order as they aren’t typically suitable for machine washing or tumble drying. Bedding, towels or large items should also be removed and ordered separately; as such large items can prevent a good quality of cleaning.
We recommend ordering knitwear separately, as it is not tumbledry friendly. We do not accept responsibility for any damage caused to items which are unsuitable for a wash and dry.
Don’t worry about sorting clothes – we’ll do that for you. All you need to do is make sure you don’t include dry clean items with a Wash, Tumble Dry & Fold order.
Yes, all clothes in a Wash, Tumble Dry & Fold order are tumble dried at a medium heat. Please make sure your clothes are tumble dry friendly!
It depends on the type and size of the garment itself. For general clothes approximately 15-20 pieces (mainly clothing weight is 300-600 grams).
